Background
HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit experienced Electrical Technicians (On-Site) responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of large Caterpillar generator systems within a continuous 24/7 power generation environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out basic Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities on Caterpillar generator systems in accordance with maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Perform basic repairs on generators and associated electrical systems, including fault identification and rectification.
- Work closely with Site Engineers to execute more advanced electrical maintenance and repair activities.
- Monitor generator performance parameters and record hourly operating data accurately.
- Conduct generator startup and shutdown procedures in accordance with established operational standards.
- Monitor engine and electrical parameters and respond appropriately to alarms, trips, and operational abnormalities.
- Support load control, load sharing, synchronization, and optimization activities to ensure efficient generator performance.
- Continuously monitor generator SMU readings and communicate PM requirements, maintenance schedules, and service needs.
- Monitor alarms and system malfunctions and communicate potential shutdown requirements to Site Engineers promptly and safely.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of Caterpillar generator systems and electrical components.
- Assist in maintaining operational records, maintenance reports, and equipment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, operational standards, and site requirements.
- Maintain high levels of alertness and attention to detail during all operational and maintenance activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working with large Caterpillar generators or within power generation facilities operating in a continuous 24/7 environment.
- Proven experience in generator startup and shutdown procedures, monitoring engine parameters, alarm and trip response, load sharing, and synchronization.
- Good understanding of generator maintenance requirements, parts lifecycle management, consumption forecasting, and basic failure diagnosis.
