JOB SUMMARY

The Data and Immunization Analyst will play a central role in strengthening immunization data systems and advancing evidence-based decision-making. This position will lead data triangulation, digital tool development, and advanced analytics to generate actionable insights for national and subnational immunization programs. The Analyst will work closely with CHMTs, RHMTs, and national stakeholders to enhance data quality, conduct field supervision, support the implementation of the Data Quality Improvement Plan (DQIP), and contribute to the national BCU case study. Proficiency in DHIS2, VIMS, AFYA Campaign, and analytical tools like Python, R, Power BI, and GIS is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Triangulation and Analysis

  • Conduct routine triangulation of immunization data from platforms such as DHIS2, VIMS, and AFYA Campaign.
  • Analyze trends, perform target setting, and identify zero-dose and dropout cases using statistical and geospatial tools.
  • Develop dashboards for real-time monitoring of campaigns, especially for HPV Multi-Age Cohort (MAC) and the HPV single-dose switch.

Data Management and Supervision

  • Design and manage digital data collection systems using Open Data Kit (ODK).
  • Automate data pipelines and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Python, or R.
  • Oversee field activities and ensure adherence to standardized data collection protocols.
  • Provide onsite mentorship and troubleshooting support during data collection efforts.

Reporting and Knowledge Translation

  • Prepare monthly reports summarizing key findings, project status, and strategic insights.
  • Draft research protocols, technical documentation, and analytical reports for internal and external use.
  • Support development of policy briefs, community engagement materials, and presentations for stakeholder dissemination.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Health Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years of experience in health data management, digital health systems, or data-driven public health programming.
  • Strong skills in statistical analysis and data visualization using Python, R, STATA, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Proven experience with Tanzania’s immunization data systems (DHIS2, VIMS, AFYA Campaign).
  • Experience in geospatial analysis using QGIS or ArcGIS is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in deploying electronic data collection tools (e.g., ODK).
  • Demonstrated experience working with R/CHMTs and familiarity with Tanzania’s public health system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in drafting research protocols and technical proposals is an asset.
