Position: Data Analyst - Risk and Compliance

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in:

• Statistics
• Mathematics
• Computer Science
• Information Systems
• Or a related quantitative discipline

5+ years of progressive data analytics experience, with at least 2 to 3 years in a telecommunications or financial services regulatory environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the daily quality assurance programme by performing structured data analysis and audits across:

• SIM registration controls
• KYC completeness checks
• Other compliance control points

Analyse registration datasets to identify anomalies, data gaps, and control failures across SIM Card registration, producing actionable findings with supporting evidence.

Monitor the barring process by ensuring the barring cycle is completed through data analysis to identify anomalies.

Validate that SIM registration records meet TCRA requirements, including:

• Biometric capture
• NIN linkage
• Subscriber identity verification completeness
• Other applicable requirements

Conduct routine and ad-hoc audits of internal compliance processes, flagging deviations from policy and tracking remediation through to closure.

Track fraud, KYC and AML KPIs/KRIs, producing regular intelligence reports for the Risk & Compliance team.

COMPETENCIES

Experience in:

• Regulatory reporting
• Compliance analytics
• Risk data management

Advanced SQL skills, including:

• Complex joins
• Window functions
• Aggregations
• Performance optimisation

Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language, with Python strongly preferred.

Hands-on experience with BI and visualisation tools, including:

• Power BI
• Tableau
• Looker
• Or equivalent tools
