Background

Hannah Bennie School (HBS) was established to provide children in Kigamboni with access to high-quality English-medium education close to home. As the institution continues to grow, data-driven decision-making has become central to improving academic outcomes, operational efficiency, and strategic planning across all departments.

To strengthen its analytics and reporting capacity, HBS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join its ICT and administration team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming raw institutional data into meaningful insights, supporting management with accurate reports, dashboards, and predictive analysis to guide planning and performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from academic, financial, operational, and human resource systems
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and automated reports for management decision-making
  • Identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and performance gaps to support institutional improvement
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, student enrolment planning, and performance evaluation through data insights
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, integrity, governance, and confidentiality across all systems
  • Collaborate with ICT teams to integrate multiple data sources and automate reporting workflows
  • Develop and maintain data models and reporting frameworks for institutional use
  • Provide analytical support for strategic planning and policy development
  • Present findings and insights to management in clear, actionable formats
  • Support continuous improvement of data systems and reporting processes

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related analytical roles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and at least one BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio
  • Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data in simple terms
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
