Job summary

The School of St Jude is pleased to announce a job vacancy for the position of Cleaner. The opportunity is open to qualified Tanzanian applicants who meet the required criteria and are ready to work in a school environment.

Duties and responsibilities

The Cleaner will be responsible for carrying out cleaning and hygiene-related duties within the school environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Cleaning furniture, equipment, rooms, and community areas such as halls and dining areas.
• Cleaning and ensuring the proper application of disinfectant in toilets and the kitchen.
• Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and keeping items in good condition.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the employer or the employer’s representative.
• Performing any work assigned by the work supervisor at any time.
• Ensuring that food utensils are not wasted or mishandled.
• Keeping records of cleaning equipment used to assist in budget planning.
• Ensuring that cleaning forms are completed and submitted on time to the school’s Chief Operations Officer.

Applicant qualifications

Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

• Must have experience in cleaning within a school environment.
• Must be a resident near The School of St Jude, Sisia Campus, Moshono, Arusha.
• Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged not less than 28 years.
• Must have the ability to welcome people respectfully and follow work procedures.
