Job Description
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an Automation Auto Electrician to join and grow its team.
The role is responsible for ensuring that activities in the Engineering and Services Department are effectively planned and carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will help achieve departmental targets in accordance with BGML Mining Safety Standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
The Automation Auto Electrician will be responsible for the following duties:
- Carry out electrical repairs and preventive maintenance to keep plant and mobile equipment operating safely and efficiently.
- Support the achievement of production and cost targets through effective maintenance practices.
- Conduct troubleshooting, fault finding, and corrective maintenance to address unplanned equipment unavailability.
- Ensure maintenance practices result in maximum equipment availability.
- Use work instructions to determine job requirements, including job sheets, quality requirements, material needs, and resource requirements.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections according to maintenance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance standards.
- Conduct upgrades and modifications on mobile and plant equipment as required.
- Carry out automation-level setups as requested by the mining operations team.
- Conduct audits on access protection barriers and network components.
- Remove and replace machine components when required.
- Provide accurate and timely feedback to the First Line Leader on conditions that may affect equipment functionality.
- Keep First Line Leaders and all relevant stakeholders informed about equipment availability status.
- Follow up on outstanding maintenance and repair works.
- Complete the shift handover process.
- Actively participate in training activities to gain new skills and develop full potential.
- Provide appropriate on-the-job training and coaching to less experienced personnel under the direction of the First Line Leader.
- Provide technical, practical, and field support in various working areas of the mine.
- Focus on increasing work effectiveness and productivity while lowering costs through improved operational practices.
Qualification Requirements
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
- Auto electrical trade, mechanical trade, instrumentation, or IT qualification
- Knowledge of Sandvik underground trackless mining equipment
- RCT Certificate 4 minimum; Certificate 5 is preferred
- Sandvik System Specialist qualification is highly preferred
- Valid driver’s license
Experience and Skills Requirements
Applicants should meet the following experience and skills requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of mobile maintenance experience
- Computer skills
- Exposure to automation within an underground mining environment
