Job Purpose
To support the Agri Retail team in pre-approval and post-approval credit processes. The role also involves coordinating Agri Retail reports, including analysis, interpretation, and recommending appropriate solutions to improve processes and portfolio quality.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare offer letters and other mortgage documents while ensuring approval conditions are properly captured.
- Liaise with Credit and Legal departments regarding approval conditions and related documentation.
- Provide day-to-day assistance to clients by addressing inquiries and resolving issues that arise.
- Perform secretarial duties in departmental meetings and ensure timely execution of agreed actions.
- Prepare necessary reports and documents for internal and external stakeholders, including:
- Bancassurance
- Credit
- Quality Assurance
- Auditors
- BOT examiners
- Assist in managing client accounts, including monitoring account activities and transactions.
- Prepare periodic reports on the quality of the Agri Retail loan portfolio.
- Monitor compliance with post-approval credit conditions and documentation requirements for management and respective forums or committees.
- Monitor loan, overdraft, and off-balance sheet accounts through daily reports.
- Liaise with Relationship Managers on expiring, non-performing, and over-limit facilities for corrective action.
- Liaise with Relationship Managers to ensure borrowers’ credit documentation is completed and kept up to date, including:
- Insurance policies
- Valuation reports
- Land rent receipts
- Interim and annual reviews
- Liaise with Relationship Managers and branches to ensure accounts in arrears have proper action plans.
- Assist Relationship Managers in onboarding new clients and ensure the process is seamless.
- Ensure all necessary client information is collected and processed appropriately.
- Review arrears reports on a daily basis.
- Conduct market research and provide insights to support Relationship Managers.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Swahili.
- Sound understanding of Business Banking products and services.
- Knowledge of Core Banking Operating System, especially Flexcube.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence systems.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in:
- Outlook
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills for both internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Well-developed analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge in reviewing and drafting legal contracts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a first degree or its equivalent in any of the following fields:
- Law
- Banking
- Finance
- Accounting
- Economics
- Other related fields
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Retail Banking, Credit, or Legal department.
