Assistant Corporate Secretary (1 Post)
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing, preparing agendas for, and taking minutes of board meetings and annual general meetings (AGMs).
- Deal with correspondence, collate information, and write reports, ensuring decisions made are communicated to relevant company stakeholders.
- Contribute to meeting discussions as required and advise management on legal, governance, accounting, and tax implications of proposed policies.
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and take appropriate action.
- Liaise with external regulators and advisers, such as lawyers and auditors.
- Take responsibility for the health and safety of employees and manage insurance and property issues.
- Develop and oversee systems to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, legal, and statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Assist in coordinating system, compliance, and other audits as required.
- Assist in handling and managing disciplinary procedures and cases, initiate corrective actions, liaise with relevant parties, and ensure follow-up actions.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating risks to which the company may be exposed.
Academic Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Must possess a Law degree with professional experience.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral, at all levels of the company.
- Ability to make sound judgment calls independently when presented with difficult decisions.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in a law firm practicing corporate and commercial law.
- Preferably experience working as an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and cases litigation.
- In-depth knowledge of Microfinance Laws and regulations will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, but also as part of a motivated team.
- Well conversant with MS Office packages.
Remuneration
Attractive salary package will be offered relating to competencies and experiences.

- One current passport-size photograph attached in CV.
