Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at the company’s manufacturing facility in Bagamoyo.

Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Maintain and update accurate books of accounts, including the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and other financial records.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, SDL, corporate tax, NSSF, and WCF, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process and monitor budget variances.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and implement audit recommendations.
  • Manage inventory costing and liaise with the production team to ensure accurate cost accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should meet the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in accounting, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Tanzania tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Odoo, Sage, or similar ERP systems, as well as MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
