Railway Engineering Test Engineers will conduct critical testing procedures to ensure the quality and safety of materials and construction for the Tabora to Kigoma SGR project. Responsibilities include earthwork testing, concrete mix design, and coordinating third-party inspections. This role suits professionals with a strong background in engineering testing and a commitment to precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform testing procedures (e.g., earthwork, concrete mix design, asphalt performance).
- Analyze test data using engineering software and prepare reports.
- Coordinate third-party inspections for steel structures and material performance.
- Manage laboratory processes, including equipment maintenance and test report review.
- Ensure testing aligns with project timelines and complies with safety regulations.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Educational Background: Associate degree or higher in Road and Bridge Engineering, Materials Science, Construction Materials, or related fields.
- Technical Competencies:
- Familiarity with railway or highway engineering testing procedures.
- Proficiency in engineering software for data analysis.
- Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of testing experience in international or large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably railways.
- Certifications: Preference for candidates with internationally recognized testing certifications (e.g., material inspection, test engineer certification) and knowledge of Tanzanian and AREMA standards.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Chinese or Swahili preferred.
