Study Coordinator

GLAMI & AMPLIFY Girls are seeking a Study Coordinator to work under the supervision of the AMPLIFY Research Co-Leads and the GLAMI Managing Director. The Study Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of study implementation and execution.

Responsibilities:
• Project management - Liaise with AMPLIFY research team and GLAMI program team to develop and execute an implementation plan for the proposed research. This will include but is not limited to:
• Recruitment & enrollment of participants in both control and treatment groups.
• Implementation of informed consent and research ethics protocol, including dissemination, collection and proper storage of informed consent documents.
• Data Collection: Manage all aspects of both qualitative and quantitative data collection, liaising with appropriate GLAMI team members and/or government/school officials as necessary. Provide training in enumeration to GLAMI team members who will be involved in data collection and oversee their data collection work. Data will include
• written surveys, government documents such as test scores, attendance records, interviews, and focus group discussions.
• Implementation Monitoring: Oversee implementation of program and implementation process--making detailed technical reports on study progress.
• Data Management: Ensure proper storage and organization of data files, following all research ethics procedures. In collaboration with AMPLIFY Research team, develop a data management and quality control plan.
• Data Analysis: Support either qualitative or quantitative data analysis under the supervision of AMPLIFY Research Team, according to the Study Coordinator’s expertise.
• Relationship Management: Actively work to maintain collegial relationships with multiple stakeholders, including GLAMI program staff, school administrators, government officials, Research team, and research collaborators at the University of Dares Salaam.
• Report Writing and Compliance: Write technical reports on study progress, implementation, and early results (if applicable). Including interim and final reports to compliance bodies.

Required Education, Skills, and Competencies:
Outstanding project management experience combined with meticulous attention to detail.
Prior experience leading or coordinating research processes is necessary, prior experience working on the study team of a randomized control trial is a plus.
Bachelor’s of Science in the area of social sciences research, statistics, economics, or any other relevant domain.
2-4 years of professional experience in research project management, especially RCTs, or mixed methods evaluation, including data collection, management, and implementation of research ethics protocols.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders andnavigating complex relationships is required. Experience with capacity development initiatives and community-based organizations is a plus.- Competencies in quantitative data analysis using Stata software OR qualitative dataanalysis using Nvivo or Atlas.ti strongly desired.
• Conceptual and practical knowledge of the challenges experienced by adolescent girls inpursuit of education in the East Africa region.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili, required.
• Passionate about gender equity and committed to gender sensitivity with zero tolerancefor sexual harassment.
Institutional Arrangement, Duty Station & Start
The Study Coordinator will be housed by GLAMI in their offices in Morogoro Tanzania and will be considered an employee of GLAMI. The Study Coordinator will report to AMPLIFY Research Co-Leads and the GLAMI Director of Operations. The position begins in September 2022, pending the study’s acquisition of requisite research approvals.

Salary
The gross salary for this position will be between TZS 2,000,000 and TZS 2,500,000/monthly depending on experience.

About INRM
• The Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) activity provides on-demand support services and technical assistance for USAID Missions, Bureaus, and Independent Offices, and is managed by the Center for Environment, Energy, and Infrastructure (EEI) in the Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation (DDI). INRM  supports integrated analysis and programming across development sectors. By using a multi-sectoral lens, INRM seeks to strengthen the impacts of USAID’s core environmental programming by recognizing synergies, adopting best practices, and building broader constituencies for integrated programming. The activity is designed to help USAID operating units achieve higher impact environment programming and to support the uptake of principles and approaches outlined in the Agency’s Environmental and Natural Resource Management Framework .

About the Assignment
• INRM anticipates a need for a short-term technical consultancy in the fall of 2022 that will focus on integrating gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) considerations into USAID programming focused on marine conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable fisheries management. The assignment will be based remotely, with anticipated short-term travel to Tanzania.
• To facilitate our ability to rapidly staff this consultancy, INRM seeks CVs from interested, qualified consultants.

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in international development, social sciences, environmental sciences, or related field;
• 10 years of experience working at the intersection of GESI and one or more of the following areas: conservation, climate change, natural resource management;
• Familiarity with value chain and market systems development approaches;
• Experience working with donors and development stakeholders in East and Southern Africa;
• Experience with USAID program cycle, and familiarity with ADS 205; and
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, fluency in English.
