Holcim is the leading global company in innovative and sustainable building & construction solutions Lafarge Tanzania is seeking to recruit highly motivated AFR Coordinator, to be based in Mbeya Plant, in a permanent employment contract.
Position Reporting To: Production Manager

1. Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
a. Coordinate the reception/ sourcing of Alternative Fuel volumes and all related logistics in plant, in collaboration with procurement and logistics department
b. Work with the Optimization Department to optimize combustion and increase Thermal Substitution Rate
c. Put in place a sound system to monitor the Alternative Fuel and Raw Materials feed systems performance
d. Bring benchmark and also enthusiasm on Alternative Fuel and Raw Materials co-processing.
e. Ensure quality control at reception is done properly, in collaboration with plant lab.
f. Challenge and support the Kiln Coach and Operators in achieving the TSR objectives (Thermal Substitution Rate, CO2)

2. Qualifications Education:
NTA level 8 in Chemical/Process with minimum of three years' experience in clinker and cement manufacturing industry using alternative fuels. 3. Technical Competencies /Additional skills:
a) Mathematical skills
b) Equipment: An understanding of the major and auxiliary equipment used in cement manufacturing
c) Process: An understanding of manufacturing theory including air and material flows and control strategies for all major process lines.
d) Demonstrated leadership capability
e) Ability to multi task effectively
f) Planning, organizing and controlling
g) Accuracy and precision.

JOB DETAILS:
Mzumbe University invites applications from suitably qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill the vacancy above in administrative positions for one year contract at the University.

Duties and Responsibilities
• To give instruction to the patient regarding the radiological procedure to be performed;
• To maintain proper radiation protection for the staff and patients;
• To carry out all imaging procedures as instructed by physician;
• To assist the radiologist during special procedures;
• To maintain proper and regular dusting and disinfections of equipment and other accessories; and
• To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification
• Holder of Diploma in one of the following fields; X-ray Technology, Radiology, Medical Imaging or equivalent qualification from a recognized institutions.

Reporting to the Associate Dean-SONAM, the incumbent will be managing daily activities of the science & skills lab facility and the storage rooms within the two facilities. This position will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Areas of responsibilities:
Day to Day Activities:
• Appropriate management of labs and its equipment's
• Monitor and report any damages and facilitate basic maintenance of the equipment's
• Prepares labs for the variety of incoming classes and keeping log
• Disposing of chemicals and waste products according to the applicable procedures in the material safety data sheets(MSDS) manual
• Monitor water PH levels
Maintenance of Safe Environment:
• Facilitate in the preparation, maintenance, and updating of Safety policies within the two facilities.
• Ensuring that safety protocol and procedures are implemented and adhered
• Maintaining MSDS databases, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS) labelling
• Explaining and enforcing safety procedures to individuals and carrying out risk assessments for lab activities
Storeroom Management:
• Managing and maintaining the storeroom inventory and ensure all labs are well-stocked, organized, and proper records management is executed
• Overseeing orders of consumable stock and controlling the flow of materials and resources in and out of the storeroom.
• Organizing materials, specimen labeling, sorting, logging, chemical labeling, storage, and disposal.
• Keeping accurate records and logs of invoices, work in progress, and delivery reports.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment's e.g centrifuges, titrates, pipetting machines and pH meters
• First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certification and added advantage
• Experience in a clinical nursing skills lab, microbiology, biochemistry and biomedical
• Experience in inventory and stock handling.
• Previous experience with MSDS, WHIMIS, and lab safety/protocol.
• Work experience or educational knowledge of microbial culture maintenance and storage
• An awareness of health and safety issues with a good practical and technical skills
