Background of the assignment:
The Communications, Advocacy and Marketing/Partnerships (CAM/P) Unit provides support to all programmes under WFP Country Office. The Unit is responsible for formulating and implementing communication strategies and visibility plans.
Additionally, the Unit supports the Country Office to organize public events, press conferences and workshops, and develops various communications materials including brochures, press releases, documentaries and infographics.

Standard minimum qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (for example, Bachelor’s degree) and have completed at least two years of the programme as well as have attended classes in the last 12 months with the University.
• Currently enrolled in a Graduate Programme (for example, Masters) and have attended classes in the last 12 months with the University.
• Recent Graduate (from an Undergraduate or Graduate Programme) within six months prior to application to the internship and attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment with the University.
• Languages: Working knowledge in both English and Swahili (proficiency/ level C) is required.
• Preferred field of study: University Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism or Public Relations.
• This position is for Tanzanian nationals only.

Organizational context
The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide.
We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFP Communications, Advocacy and Marketing/Partnerships (CAM/P) unit of the Dar -es Salaam Country Office in Tanzania.
The Internship will be for an initial period of 8 months starting from 01 February 2023.

Job purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to hire an intern to focus on organizing public events, press conferences and workshops, and developing various communications materials including brochures, press releases, documentaries and infographics, the intern will also be expected to work in a team to support the Communications, Advocacy and Marketing/Partnerships (CAM/P) Unit with other tasks as required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Reporting to the Communications Officer, she/he will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
1. Events – Assist in the preparation and coordination of events.
2. Communication materials – Support in the development and translation of communication materials when necessary.
3. Media – Support with media coordination and assist in developing regular media monitoring reports.
4. Write stories, reports and minutes of meetings.
5. Assist with content development of the website.
6. Update the communication database and filing system.
7. Any other related tasks to support the CAM/P unit.

Other specific job requirements
Experience:

• Good understanding of and experience in communications.
• Experience in providing required support in a non-profit organization or United Nations will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills:
• Photo and video taking skills.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Media coordination.
• Excellent communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate effectively. and creatively across different constituencies.
• Ability to work with a positive and constructive attitude with attention to detail.

UONGOZI Institute was established in 2010 by the Government of Tanzania to inspire and equip Tanzanian and African leaders to deliver inclusive and sustainable solutions. This is done through the provision of high-quality executive education programmes, facilitation of policy dialogues, actionoriented research, and technical assistance for public institutions.

The Institute is seeking to fill the Communications Manager (CM) position. Reporting to the CEO, the CM will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating the Institute’s communication strategy that supports the implementation of our Strategic Plan. The CM will lead the knowledgesharing initiatives and increase Institute’s visibility across the World.

Duties and responsibilities
Manage the Communications Unit
• Develop, implement and update the communications strategy and plans in support of the Institute’s Strategic Plan as needed.
• Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the Communications Unit, including assessing workloads, preparing and monitoring budgets, and detecting areas for improvement.
• Report the Unit’s activities in line with the Institute’s reporting process.
• Manage personnel under the Unit.

Customers’ and Stakeholders’ Communications
• Review copy of reports, briefs, proposals, press releases etc., for external dissemination and publication to ensure that the information intended is well communicated to the intended audience.
• Assist the CEO with matters of communication such as public relations, presenting information to stakeholders, and media relations.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders of the Institute.
• Contribute to the database of contacts and the Institute’s mailing list.

Brand Enhancement
• Assure consistent communication of the Institute’s desired image and position to internal and external audiences.
• Oversee content development and management of the Institute’s website, blog, social media platforms, YouTube channels and television programmes to promote the work of the Institute.
• Create and execute strategies for high-level events to enhance the Institute’s thought leadership, and communicate the Institute’s products and services among the targeted audience.
• Provide strategic leadership in developing result-based communication to ensure positive and productive relationships with key stakeholders.

Internal Communication
• Support and encourage networks for knowledge sharing and information dissemination.
• Research, evaluate and share information related to the Institute’s themes and programmes.
• Support the development of communication guidelines for internal and external communication.

Media and Public Relations
• Implement diverse public relations strategies to attract target audiences.
• Publicise and promote the Institute’s value proposition to reach target audiences.
• Build productive media relations with local and regional media houses.
• Oversee the production of digital media content by organising complex source materials into coherent and understandable multimedia pieces.

Key Summary
MANLUKU YOUTH DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES in TANZANIA (Mydia-tz) https://mydia–tz.or.tz is a non-for profit, non-governmental organization working with children and youth on matters related to promoting quality & inclusive education, livelihoods and health (WASH & SRHRs) in Tanzania, with its headquarters in Kasulu district of Kigoma region – Tanzania. The aim of the organization is to provide good environments for opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.

The Digital Content Creator at Mydia-tz will play a key role in creating and delivering engaging and inspiring content across a range of digital/social media channels. The creator will ensure our digital presence and support and enhance our programs to deliver our messages effectively and increase the organization’s visibility. This role requires someone who is creative and can identify, create, manage and deliver digital content using a range of techniques across channels including websites, blogs, social media and webinars. The role will work across a range of projects in the organization and build effective working relationships with various project teams, external stakeholders and third-party suppliers. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who is passionate about digital marketing and producing tangible results.

Key responsibilities
• Lead the day-to-day management of our digital channels, creating inspirational, informative and engaging content.
• Plan, produce and create a programme of digital content to be used across all of our digital channels, increasing engagement with our audiences and stakeholders.
• Develop creative ideas, suggest new innovative ways of delivering digital content and keep up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends.
• Create graphics and edit project activity-related photos and video clips and post them with summaries.
• Monitor, analyze and report on the performance of digital channels/social media using tools such as Google analytics, give feedback to stakeholders and use the data to inform future digital/social media use and improvements.
• Contribute to and work with project team and stakeholders to develop, manage and implement the digital side of integrated marketing & fundraising campaigns.
• Undertake ad-hoc work compatible with the post holder’s status/experience as required.

Person specification
• College education, ideally in marketing or communications, or significant experience of working in a digital marketing role.
• Knowledge and experience in running digital marketing campaigns.
• Experience using web content management systems such as Umbraco or .NET commercial solutions.
• Experience developing and managing social media campaigns across channels such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, using tools like AgoraPulse / Hootsuite.
• Experience in photography and creating/editing images, using packages such as Adobe Photoshop.
• Experience invideo production, including filming, editing (preferably using Final Cut Pro or similar) and delivering via channels such as YouTube.
• Understanding of digital analytics and metrics, their importance and tools to monitor, manage and evaluate them, like Google Analytics and AgoraPulse / Hootsuite.
• Ability to deliver a range of concurrent projects, on-time and to budget.
• An understanding of or experience in developing email marketing campaigns, preferably using Dotmailer or similar web-based solutions.
• Experience working with CRM systems, for example, Microsoft Dynamics 365.
