JOB DETAILS:
Rigger
TABONO CONSULT
JOB ROLE: RIGGER
LOCATION: DAR ES SALAAM
REPORTS TO: SITE SUPERVISOR

Responsibilities

• Climb ladders and towers and safely and efficiently complete various job duties at elevated heights with supervision
• Erect telecommunication tower components using cables, ropes, pulleys & other equipment
• Installation of cables, antennas, microwave dishes and other communications equipment
• Install pinwheels, structural steel, cable tray, conduits, antenna mounts, antennas, transmission lines and ancillary equipment on communication towers
• Remove, install, and repair aerial telecommunication transmission and distribution antenna, equipment, and associated hardware
• Remove, install, and repair various types and sizes of telecommunication cables and lines including fiber optic, coaxial and DC power
• Understand and strictly adhere to safety practices and guidelines
• Perform various audits and tests, upgrades and maintenance when required
• Perform repairs and emergency repairs and restore services when required
• Understand instructions to the work order and plans
• Assist the team leader in his duties as required
• Apply the rules of Health and Safety at work
• Utilize winches and capstan to move loads as required
• Understand and strictly adhere to safety practices and guidelines
• Understand and strictly adhere to established customer quality requirements without deviation
• Other duties as assigned by team leader

Basic Requirements:
• Must successfully complete tower training program at required level
• Must be able to work outside of normal business hours (i.e., shift work), to include nights and weekends, if needed
• Self-starter with desire and ability to learn and retain knowledge
• Must be a team player and have excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English language for safety reasons
• Ability to exercise flexibility in challenging and/or perplexing situations
• Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environment
• Knowledge of networking principals, Ethernet standards, power systems, and cable testing
• Working knowledge of telecommunication construction.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Years of Experience 1 to 4.

Responsibilities:

• The coordinator role will involve supervising, managing & training ASP team
installations practices specifically covering, RF and Transmission fault-finding e.g.
VSWR, sector swaps, tilts, replacing connectors, RF cabling, IF cabling, integration
and testing on the Radio Access Network and Transmission Network.
• Test equipment knowledge – site master, PIN tester, optic fibre power meter, E1
tester, fibre light source
• Perform preventative maintenance on RAN / MW sites.
• Perform Quality measures and Audits.
• Oversee and identify the possible risks that may affect H&S, work flow, quality,
performance, etc, and must report all risks identified on time in the proper means of
communication to urgency.
• Civil work builds to perform quality inspections on New Site Builds in Accordance to
QASIS
• EHS management of the ASP

Experience on the following is a must:
• Transmission Knowledge is a must
• Equipment, Minilink TN, 20P, 20PB, 6P series, MMU Series, Mini link 6600
series
• MW Antenna types, and size (0.3m 0.6m, 0.9m, 1.2m and above)
• Mini link TN/66 series installation and commissioning
• MW Mini link configurations, configuration types
• Types of configurations (1+0, 2+0,2+2, 4+0, e.t.c)
• MW link troubleshooting skills
• VLAN configurations
• Ericsson Radio Knowledge
• RBS 6000 Installation
• RBS 6000 (2G/3G/LTE) script loading
• RBS 6000 (2G/3G/LTE) alarm clearance
• RBS 6000 (2G/3G/LTE) Fault finding
• Transmission knowledge (preferable)
• RF installation
• RF Fault Finding
• RF Testing (VSWR/DTF etc.)
• Civil background and Civil Quality
• Technical Site Surveys + TSSR
• OHS
• Site surveying and site planning
