Job Summary:
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project involves the construction and operation of a buried, crossborder pipeline to transport crude oil from the Lake Albert area in Uganda to the eastern coast of Tanzania for export to international markets. The pipeline will run from Kabaale in Hoima District, Uganda, to Chongoleani, Tanga Region, in Tanzania. The length of the pipeline is 1,443 kilometres (km) of which 296 km will be in Uganda. In Tanzania the pipeline will traverse ten 8 regions: Kagera, Geita, Tabora. Shinyanga, Singida, Dodoma, Manyara and Tanga.
The Job holder reports to the Communications Lead and works closely with all other departments.

Context and Environment.
The main objective during the current stage is to ensure that all the conditions are in place for a smooth and efficient running of the project in line with the established Project standards whilst protecting the project’s technical achievements.

Job Responsibilities
The Job Holder is responsible for the following critical tasks:
• Review the Digital media strategy, develop an implementation plan and execute the implementation.
• Manage and supervise third party on external Digital Media Management and media monitoring.
• Developing concepts of digital media communications and campaigns and implementation.
• Scheduling placement of content on digital media platforms.
• Improving company visibility and manage public knowledge using digital media channels such as Company Website, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Creating content and oversee the creation of content for digital media platforms according to platform guidelines.
• Writing content for search engine optimization.
• Ensuring consistent communication across all digital media channels.
• Developing, Drafting and editing urgent digital communications copy and materials.
• Support the technical teams to ensure timely digital communication.
• Advise on new digital media trends.
• Monitor the performance of digital media contractors.
• Organise and manage internal and external digital communication activities.
• Update digital media queries for digital media monitoring.
• Participate in the developing and implementation mixed media communication strategies and campaigns.
• Establish and maintain a strong effective network and working relationships with digital news media platforms.
• Participate in other communication related activities as assigned.
• Prepare Digital media management and monitoring reports.
• Identifying and curating technical website content.
• Managing website content publication and updates.
• Remaining up to date with the latest digital media trends and design technology available.
• Contribute to essentially have a smooth and effective running of the EACOP Project in all matters highlighted in the present Service Description.

Qualifications & Experience Required
• BA. degree in communications mass communication studies or related studies.
• Not less than 4 years’ experience in the field of digital media communication/ If less, proven digital media management and good performance in strategic communication is required.
• Capable of working independently with strong prioritizing.
• Experience in digital communication management.
• Solid knowledge of design and editing programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, and Final Cut Pro.
• Knowledge of web design and content management systems.
• Advanced experience with web analytic tools such as Google Ads and Google Campaign Manager.
• Strong knowledge on social media management.
• Knowledge of the latest media trends.
• Basic budgeting skills.
• Strong knowledge of digital communication practices and techniques.
• Content writing and production experience for all media platforms.
• Great multitasker and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
• Be of Swahili mother tongue with excellent fluency in English (speaking and writing).
• Review content prepared by the digital media contractor

• Participate in departmental communications and campaign planning, working with other teams to ensure mass messages to targeted stakeholders are well planned and timely disseminated.
• Developing Mainstream and alternative Media content.
• Establish and maintain a strong effective network and working relationships with mainstream media representatives.
• Participate in the planning and organize interviews, press conferences, corporate events, and other media-oriented events.
• Management of the company’s image through mainstream, alternative and folk media.
• Update media lists and manage media contacts and incoming requests from the media.
• Participate in managing media interviews.
• Manage external corporate materials.
• Evaluate and Monitor Projects media exposure.
• Organizing external communications related corporate events.
• Participate in organizing external corporate engagements
• Participate in drafting and editing publication materials and communications copy.
• Multimedia Media Content production.
• Project Content research.
• Drafting and editing communications copy and material.
• Participate in the implementation of internal and external communications strategies and projects.
• Prepare External Communications Implementation and Monitoring reports.
• Coordinate external translations
• Contribute to essentially have a smooth and effective running of the EACOP Project in all matters highlighted in the present Service Description.

Qualifications & Experience Required
Professional experience:

• Capable of working independently with strong prioritizing.
• Experience in mass communication management.
• Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques.
• Capable of handling relevant IT tools (MS Office Suite and other specific tools as required).
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Preferably be of Swahili mother tongue with excellent fluency in English (speaking and writing).
• BA. degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
• Content writing and production experience for all media platforms: mainstream, digital, alternative, and folk.
• Great multitasker and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
• Professional experience: minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
