Responsibilities:
• Comply with all site safety and environmental standards, procedures and policies.
• Liaise with the team to gather product and structural requirements and designs.
• Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials.

Qualification Requirements:
• Ordinary level certificate – Form IV
• Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Architecture

Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in large scale multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD).
• Ability to work in a team and remain professional at all times.
• Experience in the Mining Industry will be an added advantage

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

About the role
We are currently on the lookout for a dedicated Technician – Mechanical to work at our customer site in Geita in Tanzania. This role will report to the Supervisor - Asset Systems.

The primary purpose of this critical role is to provide safe and efficient plant maintenance and shutdown systems for the manufacturing complex and to minimise down time by safely achieving effective use of resources.

What you will be doing
• Ensuring all corporate and statutory requirements are met with respect to SH&E in relation to plants maintenance activities;
• Ensuring maintenance complies with requirements of Orica policies and resources are available at the right time;
• Assisting the Operations Team Leaders and the Site manager setting and achieving the objectives of the SHE improvement plan;
• Working closely and communicate with key stake holders, team leaders, technical, engineering project teams and contractors;
• Developing maintenance solutions that cost effectively support long term plant operation;
• Monitoring and ownership of work activities during plant maintenance and shutdown.
• Accepting responsibility for all maintenance outcomes and demonstrate commitment for improvement;
• Minimising downtime and optimise shutdown duration;
• Effectively planning maintenance activities and trouble shoot and find root cause of failures
• Ensuring that PMs and securities are carried out according to scheduled routines and managed on the SAP PM system;
• Coaching and supporting the production Team in relation to improving performance through improved maintenance &/or operating practice.

Role Description:
Reporting to Plant Superintendent, the role will be responsible for the overall supervision and monitoring of all production activities and monitor and comply with all company safety and security procedures and practices throughout the plant.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Manage all metallurgical process, prepare charts and graphs and prepare appropriate reports for all investigations.
2. Make timely and effective decisions regarding plant operations to ensure clean ore and quality concentrate is produced.
3. Coordinate with staff members and resolve all technical problems of the processing plant.
4. Analyze all data and prepare reports for all results.
5. Ensure compliance to all environment safety requirements and operating guidelines.
6. Reviewing safety procedures to ensure that they are being followed by employees at all times.
7. Coordinates with staff members in process designing.
8. Assists the Plant Superintendent to manage production activities at the required standard.
9. Monitors and controls production quality and process efficiency.
10. Develops a process to eliminate inefficiencies in the production line.
11. Coordinate with procurement staff and equipment suppliers or manufactures to provide the necessary required information for the intended equipment.
12. Performs tests and monitor major equipment performance to ensure prevention of loss of intended product in the process.
13. Provide support to all staff involved in production and assist in analyzing various test results.
14. Analyze all data and prepare and prepare reports for all results.
15. Evaluates all reports,perform regular examination with the help of a methodological system.

Minimum Requirements for all applicants:
• Bachelor Degree in Mineral Processing Engineering or its equivalent.
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Plant Metallurgist activities.
