Intern-Operational Risk

Job Summary
To Provide Support in implementations of the revised ORMF (Operational & Resilience risks), and newly introduced Operational risk system (ORMS), Specifically on supporting businesses in ingestions of the data from manual templates and providing guidance on how to navigate through the system (ORMS)
Provide Support on the embedment of Risk Data Aggregations and risk reporting (RDARR) by tracking Data issues and Limitations and remediation's.


Job Purpose.

• To Provide Support in implementations of the revised ORMF (Operational & Resilience risks), and newly introduced Operational risk system (ORMS), Specifically on supporting businesses in ingestions of the data from manual templates and providing guidance on how to navigate through the system (ORMS)
• Provide Support on the embedment of Risk Data Aggregations and risk reporting (RDARR) by tracking Data issues and Limitations and remediations.

Main accountabilities and approximate time split
• Providing support and guidance while Conducting Risk Control Self-Assessment and Critical Process Assessment (RCSA/CPA) control testing.
• Providing guidance on Key Risk Indicator assessment (KRI) and adoptions into the ORMS
• Provide Support on issues and actions Management tracking
• Supporting business stakeholders in the Adoption and uploading of all Approved Framework, Policies, and Standards documents into the system for publications
• Supporting stakeholders on how to capture Dispensations, Waiver and Breaches maintained in excel into the Operational risk system
• Providing support and guidance while Conducting Risk Control Self-Assessment and Critical Process Assessment (RCSA/CPA) control testing.
• Providing guidance on Key Risk Indicator assessment (KRI) and adoptions into the ORMS
• Provide Support on issues and actions Management tracking
• Supporting business stakeholders in the Adoption and uploading of all Approved Framework, Policies, and Standards documents into the system for publications

Risk and Controls Objectives
• Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Absa Operational Risk Framework and internal Absa Policies and Standards

• Manage risk and control effectively by applying applicable risk frameworks and embedding a positive risk culture
• Understanding of own role in the end-to-end processes in which you play a part, including applicable risks and controls.
• Adhere to Absa’s policies and procedures applicable to own role, demonstrating sound judgement and responsible risk management.
• Report all risk events / incidents / issues using the defined process for your business area and help to understand why these happened and how to prevent them in future.
• Proactively look for ways to improve the control environment by considering what could go wrong in the processes you operate and how errors could be prevented.
• Continuous and proactive engagement with regulatory bodies, unions where applicable
• All mandatory training completed to deadline

Knowledge, Expertise and Experience
A candidate should be a holder of bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Actuarial Science/Audit/Accounting/Banking and Financial Services or any other relevant discipline

Main purpose of the job:
• To provide technical support in research, documentation and dissemination of information to staff of TICGL.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Support TICGL to establish effective research, documentation and information dissemination systems.
• Document and disseminate on-going research findings
• Provide support to staff in building in-house research
• Conduct research and write papers on varied subjects for the use of the Committees.
• Organize and catalogue the work and output.
• Provide service to Standing Committees as and when necessary.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Social sciences or related fields.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant work experience in the field of research in a busy and reputable organization.
