WWF Tanzania Country Office (WWFTCO) is the international conservation organization and well-integrated into the national conservation setting and deploys its human and financial resources to deliver impactful conservation in an effective and efficient manner. The organization’s vision is to ensure the natural wealth and biodiversity of the country is sustained, supporting the well-being of local communities and national economic development. WWF TCO through Marine Programme is currently implementing a project titled “Mangrove Management for Climate Risk Resilience and Improved Livelihoods” funded by the Norwegian NORAD and regionally implemented in Tanzania, Mozambigue, and Madagascar. In Tanzania the project is specifically implemented in the RUMAKI Plus Seascape in Kibiti district (Mchungu and Msindaji villages), Mafia district (Jimbo and Kanga villages) and Kilwa district(Somanga and Malendego villages). Through this project WWF-Tanzania works closely with various national and local authorities, local communities and civil society organizations across the three districts with the objective to achieve agreement on harmonized and coordinated frameworks at local level to ensure the sustainable management of mangrove resources while safeguarding their benefits and rights.

To achieve this objective, the project seeks to provide training workshops aimed at empowering local communities and civil society organizations to fully engage in policy and legislation processes related to mangrove management. WWF TCO is therefore looking for a qualified and competent individual or organization to facilitate these training workshops. The workshops aim to equip local communities and CSOs engaged in mangrove initiatives with the knowledge and skills necessary for policy influence, advocacy, and the legislative process. By providing this training, it will also enhance their ability to advocate for their rights and the benefits of mangrove conservation, thereby fostering sustainable management practices and securing the well-being of both communities and ecosystems.
