Treated net distributions at The Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP),

Background and project description
The Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP), Baltimore USA, receives funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), under the Breakthrough ACTION Tanzania project to implement social and behaviour change (SBC) interventions designed to improve malaria outcomes among priority populations and areas in Tanzania.
As one of several malaria control projects in Tanzania, Breakthrough ACTION Tanzania works with the Government of Tanzania, the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children National Malaria Control Program and other malaria stakeholders to improve adoption and uptake of malaria interventions among individuals, families, communities, and health workers through evidence-based and contextually appropriate SBC activities.
In Tanzania, malaria remains a major disease burden. Almost all the population is estimated to be at risk of the disease, with children and pregnant women at the greatest risk. While malaria remains a significant public health concern, in the past two years the country has also been grappling with COVID-19, which has brought challenges to the health system and malaria prevention is even more important now than ever. The distribution of insecticide treated nets (ITNs) has been ongoing in Tanzania.
