Trademark East Africa (TMEA) is funded by a range of development agencies with the aim of growing prosperity in East Africa through trade. We believe that enhanced trade contributes to economic growth, a reduction in poverty and subsequently increased prosperity. .

TMEA, with an annual expenditure of around US$100 million, is now the largest aid-for-trade facility in the world. We have vibrant and successful country programmes in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan Tanzania and Uganda, and are in the process of setting up operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The first phase of TIVIEA has delivered exceptional results which have directly contributed to substantial gains in East Africa's trade and regional integration environment in terms of reduced transit times, improved border efficiency, and reduced barriers to trade.

We are new in the second phase and we aim to deliver even more large-scale impact to maximize the potential benefits of aid-forn trade interventions. We are looking for high caliber, results-oriented and experienced professionals to join our team in the positions below

Risk and Compliance Director
The Risk& Compliance Director will lead TMEA's efforts in managing risk optimally by ensuring that effective risk and compliance strategies, policies and frameworks are in place through securing sound legal advice, ensuring effective governance arrangements. Enforcing compliance with approved policies and procedures, and promoting ethical behavior.

The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree with at least 12 years of relevant working experience in one or more of the core areas of the job OR possess a Master’s degree with at least 10 years’ of relevant working experience. A minimum of five years’ leadership experience it one of the main focus areas of the unit is essential. A professional qualification in law, Accountancy, risk, compliance, governance or audit is mandatory.

Internal Audit Manager
The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for supporting and deputizing the Director of Audit & Assurance it providing high quality internal audit and fraud management services to TMEA which meet recognized international standards and which add value to TMEA.

The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree plus a minimum ten years’ relevant working experience OR a postgraduate degree with a minimum of eight years ‘relevant roaming experience. Three or more years of leadership and management experience are essential.

S/he will have full membership of and certification by the Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) including but not limited to CIA. QIAL, (IRMA CCSA BEAC etc. OR full membership of and certification by ACCA CPA, CIMA, CA, ICAS or ‘SAGA.

Program Manager, DRC
The Programme Manager will deputize the Country Director and provide support it the management of the Country Programme. S/he will be responsible for providing programmatic support in the planning, implementation, budgeting and reporting of all TMEA DRC programmes including those relating to private sector and civil society organizations.

The ideal candidate will possess either an undergraduate or a post graduate degree in Business, Economics, and Development studies. Finance, Trade, Planning. Or related field. Undergraduate degree holders will have at least 10 years relevant working experience, white postgraduate degree holders will have a minimum of eight years relevant working experience. At least three years of management experience is required. Experience and for qualifications in project planning and management is desirable.

Civil Engineer, Great Lakes
The Civil Engineer will act as project manager for all TMEA-funded infrastructure activities (transport and non-transport) and related consultancies in the Great Lakes region. S/he will report to the Engineering Director and will work closely with the DRC Country Programme and Infrastructure Teams.

The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of construction with at least 10 years of relevant working experience OR a postgraduate degree and eight years cl relevant working experience. Full membership and certification by Association des Ingénieurs Civils du Congo (ACIC) is mandatory. S/he will have at least three years cl infrastructure contract management experience, with work experience in surface transport (road. rail, maritime. waterway) civil engineering.
