JOB DETAILS:
In the SNV offices located in Arusha, the service of Senior intern is required to provide support to M&E and Knowledge Development within Women’s Employment Stimulus Fund (WES) – Results Based Financing (RBF) projects under implementation in Tanzania mainland. The intern will work to support specific task delivery of M&E and Knowledge Development services SNV Tanzania’s work with Energising Development in the “Women’s Employment Stimulus Fund (WES) – Results Based Financing (RBF)”. (see annex 1). A key element of the internship will be to further encourage and stimulate learning in market driven programmatic approaches in the projects and also through linkages to other (inter) sector interventions throughout SNV.
Responsibilities of the position:
• Support the transparent and equitable operation of the WES-RBF fund in a manner that ensures verifiable new employment and retention of women in the private sector delivery sale of VeraSol approved solar energy kits and solar water pumps;
• New hire verification and Sustained Hire Verification - Employee verification will be delivered to verify status and conditions of employment. Main points of the employee verification will be to: verify new female hires evidenced by employment or commissioned agent contracts. Overall quality of employment and training supports provided, confirmation of fair reception of work remuneration, verify eligibility for retained hire incentives;
• Due diligence verification of all original documents submitted by the firms as per pre-qualifications instructions. Verify onsite inspection to ensure solar product authenticity and firm operations. Verification of evidence of quality solar product sales and service to end consumers on a commercial basis that are inclusive of Quality assurance of proposed PUE technologies;
• contribute to other components of the EnDev program as directed by the EnDev Project Manager/Advisors.
Qualifications
• Requirements:
• The Senior intern must be a Tanzanian national preferably having completed post-secondary education.
• Demonstrated experience in field research, data collection, administrative skills, and Geographic Information System (GIS) knowledge and project documentation are desired.
• Candidates with some knowledge and/or experience combining renewable energy, private sector development and gender are preferred.

• Analytical skills combined with a practical and pragmatic approach oriented towards lasting results; Strong interpersonal and influence skills and experience of working in a international organization;
• Good team player with solution orientated approach;
• Readiness to live, work and travel in rural districts with minimal amenities;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English and Kiswahili, including reporting and presentation skills.
