JOB DETAILS:
Role Purpose:
The QI technical lead will support implementation and institutionalization of quality improvement (QI) initiatives under USAID-funded Lishe Mtambuka Activity. Lishe Mtambuka aims to strengthen health and food market systems that promote adoption of optimal nutrition related behaviors across a range of stakeholders in the five regions in Tanzania. This position will Provide technical support to R/Council health management teams, health facilities and community to improve performance of health system and the delivery of health care services through identification of QI gaps, capacity building of teams to conduct problem root cause analysis, introducing measures to improve quality using available resources, monitoring impact and institutionalization of changes. She/he will work closely with both the health system and nutrition governance advisors to ensure R/CHMTs, health facilities and communities fully implement the national nutrition QI guideline

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in public health or any relevant/ related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience implementation of QI initiatives in public health programs. Experience in implementation of USAID-funded projects
• Proven ability to prepare project reports, technical briefs, budgets and work plans
• Strong analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations;
• Proven experience in data analysis and reporting skills
• Proven track record representing organizations in front of the government and donors at the highest levels
• Experience as a coach/mentor to train staff and develop technical, operational and project management skills of colleagues;
• Experience managing team’s performance
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required.
• Familiarity with the political, social, and cultural context of Tanzania.
