Job summary
An experienced teacher will teach the subject as per the school curriculum and guidelines set by the school and according to the full job description and expectations. The Mathematics teacher will teach lower secondary. (Cambridge Years 7-9). The English Literature teacher will teach upper secondary (IGCSE and A Level). The Special Needs/Learning Support Teacher will support (K-12) students with mild to moderate special needs and learning challenges. The English as a Second/Additional Language teacher will teach English language learners (K-Grade 12). The French teacher will teach secondary (Cambridge Year 8 through A Levels), and the Service Learning Teacher will teach secondary (Grades 6-12). The ideal teacher will be self-motivated, a team player, adaptable, and willing to learn with experience working in multicultural, international settings, and fluent in English.

HOPAC follows the Cambridge curriculum and is an ACSI/MSA accredited school.

Required qualification and experience
• Bachelor's degree in education or subject-specific field
• Teaching license, qualification, or certification
• Committed Evangelical Christian
• Fluent in English, the medium of instruction
• Minimum of three years teaching experience, preferably in a multicultural setting
• Experience teaching Cambridge International Curriculum preferred

• School Counselor (January 2023)

Job Summary
The School Counselor role is a crucial one in terms of assessing students, families providing emotional and learning support, and advising school leadership on bigger picture issues relating to student emotional health and safety. The Counselor is responsible for actively engaging students, staff and the wider school community in promoting a positive learning environment within the school by providing mental health services that are in line with the school’s Christian worldview. He/She is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive mental health services. He/She will also assist with Life Skills classes and be part of the child safety team. This position is not limited to just the hours of the school day. He/She reports to the Director.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a team player, adaptable, and willing to learn with experience working in multicultural, international settings, and fluent in English.

Required Qualification and Experience for School Counselor

• Middle School Principal (August 2023)

Job summary
The Middle School Principal is a member of the school management team and reports to the school’s Director. The Middle School Principal oversees Grades 6-8. The Middle School Principal oversees a 9+ member teaching staff including administrative support from an Academic Counselor and Sports Coordinator. The Middle School Principal acts as the educational leader of the middle school, responsible for its day-to-day operation, and works closely with the Senior School Principal to deliver on the overall program of the school.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical Oversight
• Support the Program Manager to review and contextualize Girls’ Education Program content and professional learning materials for Tanzania
• Assist GEP technical department in the development of GEP blended model for future use.
• Support Program Manager to improve professional learning materials and conduct trainings to field Program officers, and Social Mobilisers on contextualized program contents.
• Provide technical oversight to Field Office GEP staff and Social Mobilizers (SMs); including providing on-going capacity building, on-site coaching, and technical support as required to address issues of overall program implementation quality.
• Participate in Proposal development for funding various components of the GEP program, as needed.

Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting, Documentation
• Provide technical expertise to the Country Research, Monitoring & Evaluation (RM&E) team to support design and refinement of monitoring and evaluation systems and procedures used to track progress against planned program outcomes
• Participate in development and review of annual program goals and budgets to ensure alignment with organizational strategies and priorities.
• With support from RM&E team, Monitor and collect feedback/best practices on GEP programs, including conducting regular field visits
• Participate in the annual Budget and Planning processes for the GEP program
• Prepare and share technical Program updates and recommendations to the GEP Program Manager to inform program improvement
• Assist PM on documenting and share best practices with the global audience as needed.

External Coordination, Advocacy and Networking
• Support in the development and reviews of Government engagement activities which will result to adoption of Room to Read frameworks into Government system.
• Support in the developing and maintain relationships with the Education Partners and stakeholders in supporting Girls Education in Tanzania including representing Room to Read at relevant meetings and events as needed.
• Liaise with and explore opportunities for knowledge sharing with NGOs, experts, and institutions involved with girls’ education to inform program improvement and scale up mission.
• Participate in any other activities, which may be required to be undertaken to fulfill the objectives of the organization.

Qualifications:
Required:

• University degree in a related field (Sociology, education, gender, social work, community development).
• 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Prior experience in contextualization (adaptation, translations, design, and training facilitation).
• Prior experience coaching or supervising others.
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to monitor progress of program implementation.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative.
• Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people including the Government institutions in Tanzania
• Desire and ability to spend a quarter or more time traveling and providing direct support to Girls Education Program (Coaching and monitoring)
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Fluency in the local language.
• English fluency.

What you’ll do
• Assists in overseeing the purchasing of food, services and supplies at various locations around Arusha on a daily basis for all campuses
• Assist the Purchasing Team Lead in preparing and implementing tenders as need arises
• Assist the Purchasing Team Lead in conducting risk assessment and coming up with internal control measures on inventory management and entire procurement processes.
• Assist the Team in creation, amendment and implementation of policies and procedures within the Procurement department
• Assist with overseeing and conduct general shopping as required for other divisions in the School
• Sourcing competitive suppliers based on quality, price and efficiency for all sections of the school
• Assist in procurement audits in accordance with internal controls and general professional procurement practices.
• Conducting regular supplier reviews to ensure value for money and quality supplies.
• Ensuring that all Purchasing data are captured and processed accurately on a daily basis before submission to the Purchasing Team Lead.
• Assisting the Team Lead to create contracts where appropriate while managing the goods receiving process in all campuses
• Ensuring all purchasing requests are completed within an appropriate timeframe as per procedure
• Ensuring all accounts and other documentation is clear, concise and completed in the agreed timeframe

What we’re looking for
• A Bachelor’s Degree in procurement or in supply chain and logistics.
• CPSP certification as recognized by PSPT Board (T), will be an added advantage.
• Computer skills: Ms Excel, Ms Word, Internet, knowledge of ERP systems would be an added advantage
