JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary
Manage, and transform the hotel to be competitive.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Administering hotel operations and implementation of hotel activities.
• Controlling Hotel revenue and expenditure.
• Ensuring Hotel standards are adhered.
• Developing Plans and Budgets for the hotel.
• Administering all activities related to upholding hotel standards.
• Marketing the hotel products and services within and outside the country.
• Liaising with the University and other stakeholders on hotel matters.
• Preparation of hotel weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on hotel performance.
• Performing any other related duties as may be directed by the Hotel Board or University Administration.

Qualifications:
• A Bachelor Degree in Tourism or related field of study such as Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Public Administration. A Technician Certificate of Hospitality Operations is an added advantage.
• Experience: Must have at least five (5) years working experience of which two
• Must be in the senior positions in the hospitality or related industry.
• Language: Preferably English and Kiswahili.
• Knowledge for Management Excellence
• Age Limit: Must not exceed 50 years of age.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive and dispatch food commodities as per approvals while adhering to food handling standards
• Food handling standards adhered too
• Ensure timely documentation/updating of all transactions into relevant EDP documents
• Documents are updated timely and accurately
• Ensure thorough cleanliness of the assigned store
• Undertake daily reconciliation

End Results
• Compile quality periodical reports timely
• Quality reports are produced and shared timely
• Participate in monthly Physical Inventory exercise
• PI produced timely
• Daily reconciliation done
• Acceptable hygienic level prevails at EDP

KNOWLEDGE/ QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Required Professional Experience
• One-year experience in working with humanitarian operations,
• Experience in handling commodities management
• Experience in working with refugee programs
• Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
• Training in commodities management, and response training.
• Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
• Degree in Accountant or Procurement
• Travel and/or Work Environment
• Refugee camps
• Physical Requirements
• Should be physically fit
• Language Requirements
• Fluent in English and Swahili
